Firstly, we can get lung and cancer diseases. In U.S more than 400,000 deaths each year are from smoking related illness. And smoking greatly increases your risks for lung cancer and many other cancers. The diseases can attack not only young people but also older people who are smoking cigarette.
Secondly, we can be addicted. Smoking is an addiction such as tobacco smoke, it contains nicotine and a drug that is addictive and make it very hard, but not impossible, to quit. The smoking harms not just the smoker, but also family members, cowokers and others who breathe the smoker’s cigarette smoke, called second smoke. It because they are addictive. For example secondhand smoke from a parent’s cigarette increases a child’s chances for middle ear problems, causes coughing and wheezing, and worsen asthma conditions. And among infants to 18 months of age, secondhand smoke is associated with as many as 300,000 cases of bronchitis and pneumonia each year. This is the worse cases that ever had in the world.
Finally, it make hindrance pregnancy for woman and cause the high mortality rate in our country. The pregnant women who smoke are more likely to deliver babies whose weights are too low for the babies’ good health. If all women quit smoking during pregnancy, for about 4,000 new babies would not die each year. And the high mortality rate in every country will decrease.
This all effect is very dangerous for our health, so there are several way to solve this problems. First, quitting smoking makes a difference right away, you can taste and smell food better. Your breathe smells better. Your cough goes away. This happens for men and women of all ages, even those who are older. It happens for healthy people as well as those who already have a diseases or condition caused by smoking. Second, quitting smoking cuts the risk of lung cancer, many other cancers, hearth disease, stroke, other lung diseases, and other respiratory illness. Third, ex-smokers have better health than current smokers. Ex-smokers have fewer days of illness, fewer health complaints, and less bronchitis and pneumonia than current smokers. Finally, quitting smoking saves money. A pack a day smoker, who pays 2 dollar per pack can, expect to save more than 700 dollar per year. It appears that the price of cigarettes will continue to rise in coming years, as will the financial rewards of quitting.
In conclusion, the effect of smoking cigarette is not good for our health because it’s not good for our body, so we will get many diseases, such as lung diseases, cancer, cough, be addicted, and also make hindrance pregnancy for women and cause the high mortality rate in our country. So if you never smoke before, don’t ever try it because smoking is very bad for our health in our life.
